New Year, New Rules...

A new year equals new organisation rules for me, meaning wrenching out all the junk from around my room, and de-cluttering my shelves. Now, I don't particularly enjoy shuffling around under my bed for boxes of crap as much as the next person, but it is something in which has to be done! So, I have decided to introduce you lovely readers to some quirky and creative ways in which to organise your things, and show off your prized possessions...

Take-away coffee cups make great storage holders for your make-up. Adding an indie vibe to your shelves and altogether allowing your mascara to take 'stylish' to a whole new level!

Use candles as bookends -although preferably not alight- to ensure sophisticated glamour when reading. Always keep your prettiest of books on show, as this will add a girly touch to your shelves.

Vintage inspired food tins are perfect for enclosing all your precious keepsakes. From photos and letters to even jewellery, these quirky tins will work wonders for your bedroom!

A scarf holder will look spic and span hanging on the back of your wardrobe door; a quick and easy way of keeping organised without the hastle of hundreds of storage boxes.

Wicker baskets are great to store seasonal shoes or un-displayed items, and are a perfect fit for under the bed!

Less is more when it comes to sheving units. I love to keep my favourite decor pieces on their own shelve, paired with another clashing item. I think that this gives my room an extra vintage touch.

Jewellery stands are an effective and elegant way to store your favourite vintage pieces. Whether it be from cameo necklaces to animal inspired rings, these little inventions are what 'style' is all about!

Cutlery trays are an interesting way to store Nail varnish or other forms of make-up, and can slot easily into your chest of drawers or even look great on top of your desk...

And lastly, seeing as Christmas was all but a week ago...

A cute way of recycling your gift tags is by using them as a bookmark for your year planner! Handy!

So, have fun de-cluttering (and stressing ;D) and organising your room! I hope that these tips may have helped, good luck! Milly xoxo
